My Contribution
My Role: Gameplay Programmer, Perforce Manager
This was my last game as a student at Digipen Institute of Technology. On this game, I got to use Unreal Engine 5, an engine now I feel comfortable with thanks to this project, and I got to experience developing a game on it with 4 partners using Perforce as our source control system to upload to Steam.
Here is my contribution to this project:
Gameplay Programming: I was in charge of creating the interactable system, a system with which players can activate interactables that they will find on circuits to hinder other players or open shortcuts, only it they have enough boost on their boost meter to spend on it.
More Gameplay Programming: I programmed many of the game’s interactables using the previously mentioned interactable system as well as creating other obstacles for players to avoid, these include rocks that fall, cars that have to be avoided, doors that open and even a vacuum that follows different paths, among others.
Design: I designed many of the game’s interactables that can be found in the game’s circuits. I also designed 3 of the game’s circuits: Chaos City, Mini Market and Simulation Speedway.
Source Control: I Spearheaded Perforce management responsibilities for proper version control and collaboration.
